Ah, I've had a depressing day. Venturing into Manchester town centre with little to no money in my pocket, makes for a very sad Cassie! Especially, when Topshop seem to have done their upmost to tempt me into shoe addiction relapse. In case you didn't know, I'm a sucker for gorgeous bags in any shape and form, and similarly for shoes. Hence, treading into the Topshop designated shoe area my heart rate rapidly increased and I felt that bubble of excitement usually associated with finding the love of your life, having a baby...etc etc...! For me it was the boots I've been wanting ever since their very first day in store. Black, suede, over-the-knee, hidden platform, perfect heel (making my legs long, but not soaring me into giant height proportions). I'm talking about the Brittany boot. In fact the first over-the-knee boot (or is it OTK daarling) I saw on the highstreet when the trend hit the stores, oh so many months ago. Had I not been a student, had we not been in the middle of an economic crisis so finding a job is hard!, had I not have to make a meagre budget to survive my next few student months....trust me, on my feet these boots would be! Alas, yet again I had to leave them behind me...staring at me, daring me to open a store card in the reflection of the mirror (so aptly arranged that I could see them all the way down the escalator), so that I could 'afford' them.
Sadly I go through this scenario every single time I go to Topshop. I get excited thinking about the boots, I get outrageously excited when I see them 'waiting' for me. I pick them up, exclaim to everyone 'how gorgeous are these boots!? Why aren't you looking at them like me? Have you not seen them? No, don't get too close they're mine!'. I look for my size. Find they have it. Try them on. Take them off. Cradle them lovingly. Debate: can I afford them...no I can't...should I open a store card?...no I shouldn't. And then it's a sad farewell to my beautiful boots. Yes I know it's ridiculous but surely there is something out there for every fashion lover that makes you swoon like a Confessions of a Shopaholic character?
Anyway, what made this particular visit so very very hard was the fact that Topshop have gone out of their way to create some stunning shoes that I would love to dress my toes in. Above, are some of my very favourites, but I'm sad to say they are all just a wish away at the moment...as boots I don't need...coats I do!!
I love the pencil heel on both Sherry and Pendulum...I had to try on the Pendulum boots and yes they do make your feet look sensational.
P.S - Apologies for the lack of blogging, I've had a busy weekend as I'll soon blog about :)
