Home Again

Ahhh....I'm back from one of the most relaxing holidays ever. It really surprised me how good it felt to be away from the entrapments of the internet (Facebook, Twitter, etc) and knowing what everyone in the world is doing all of the time. It was even nice to keep the television off for a change, and not have its constant murmur in the background. Of course, Desperate Housewives remained, there's only so far you can go.

I bought a couple books to take with me and had to buy more midweek. I love reading, which isn't too surprising considering I study English and Creative Writing, but I find too much of the time I spend out and about, or when I'm indoors, I've got the internet on 24/7 and there's always something to watch on the box. So it was really, really nice to get back into reading (the Philippa Gregory Tudor series if you're interested). The sun actually made an effort to make an appearance for most of the week, which gave me a touch of tan, and a really fetching patch of burn on my nose...

Finally, with all my uni work done and literally nothing to do, I managed to catch up on all my magazines, which had been piling up and sadly collecting dust in their neglect. Vogue July was a really good issue, pretty damn perfect if only it had had a more interesting cover. I so wish they'd take a minor lead from the simplicity and intrigue of an Elle subscriber issue, or even a standard Elle cover.

Moving on, the one thing I love about the internet and really missed was keeping up on what has been going on with fashion and celebrities in all their forms. A hell of a lot seems to go on in just a week. Fashion is the one thing that is more than welcome to occupy me 24/7, and I would not complain one bit. So coupled with the holiday and proper catching up on everything, I'm feeling really refreshed and it's truly lovely.

While I get my feet (which I may add, are ever so slightly brown - success!) back on the ground, I love you and leave you with Rachel Bilson looking phenomenal as always. Seriously, I need to fix myself up with some neutral heels.
