Blogger Style: Chinos Chinos

I was so tempted to call this blog 'Chino Time' after just seeing Chico crop up out of nowhere on the internet. I refrained!

I'm really into the cropped trouser look at the moment, especially when those trousers are chinos. I'm usually a dress girl, occasionally a skirt girl, but never a jeans/trousers girl. However, this past month, I've bought more pairs of trousers than I have in years. This is all because of the humble harem pant and the said cropped chino. Now, harems are a little bit tricky for me as I'm a bit, shall we say, hippy? And I'm always afraid that they make me look huge in that area. However, for anyone who reads regularly, I'm also really taken with jersey. This means that when I saw a jersey, harem style jumpsuit - huge hips or not- I bought it.

Chinos, on the other hand, serve me well. Coupled with a sturdy wedge heel, chinos are super flattering, instantly cool and somehow manage to remain comfortable. This has made them a huge hit for me, the anti-trousers girl. One thing that makes chinos even better for me, is seeing men wearing them with 'deck shoes' or 'boat shoes' (whatever we're calling them, I'll stick with 'loafer'). The boyfriend is catching up to this trend, and what he at first thought was not a good look, is now fast growing on him. Lucky for me then, that there are so many men already onto it for me to appreciate - purely from a style perspective you understand.

ASOS recently launched a challenge for male bloggers to wear the *drumroll* coloured chino. For me, Dapper Kid wins hands down.

  1. I am slowly coming around to chinos, Mathew has worn his with his boating shoes constantly!
Not sure I can cope with the shorter length of them though, something a bit wrong about the naked ankle!!!
