Akris

Sleek, sexy and sophisticated definitly sums up this collection. Akris' line for Spring/Summer 2010, in part reminds me of the simple yet infallibly elegant designs of Calvin Klein. Classic, sharp tailoring comprise the majority of the line, something which isn't all too inspiring for me until you combine with head to toe neutral shades, that come together to stunning effect. In all the right pastel shades; nudes with a blush of pink, and baby blue, with the occasional lines of grey and burnt orange, the collection doesn't subtly make suggestions of confidence and sexiness, it states it.

The highlights of the collection for me were the stunning maxi dresses. Sweeping the floor, making solid statement shapes and revealing plunging backlines as the models turned back down the catwalk, the contrast between the billowing, breezy dresses and those that still held elements of A/W's power silhouette, with their angular padded shoulders, provided a notable cohesion between what we've loved this Winter, and what we will be in love with in a couple of months.

With the colour palette being the same from top to toe, I can't help but thing Victoria Beckham would be a fan of this collection. After all, if there's one girl who loves to colour match it's this one...
