It's going to be a war out there this Spring/Summer with the new spin on military wear battling it out against the fresh and feminine palette of pastels. I've never really like the utilitarian style, I always find the colours look massively uninspiring with their dusty khakis and dirty beiges. They're a trend that for me, always looks a lot more stylish on someone else. So I've taken myself by surprise, I'm starting to be intrigued by the military look that has been reworked for Spring/Summer. And there is one item that's flying the flag: Chloe's cape. Featured in one of their campaigns for 2010, the denim edged piece deserves some special attention and recognition. It captures the look that has become synonymous with Chloe: simplistic and always feminine, yet infallibly modern and stylish. I knew it was a special piece when it's the first ever utility/military style item to have ever made me want to experiment a lot more confidently with this look. But what a way to start...storming in with this eye grabber!
So who wins the style war for you, when it's military versus romance?

chloe love. i'm similiar to yourself, it's a trend i haven't fully involved myself with, but perhaps this year is the one to start!

I only do military in jacket form, I can't seem to pull off the khakis and beiges without looking like a hiker. So definitely romance for me this spring, but maybe I'll have another dabble into military, maybe with a cape!
ReplyDeleteI want that cape! I wouldn't even care if it looks ridiculous on me, I'd just use to it to run around my local field pretending to be a superhero!
