wednesday wishes 5

I was just about to write my apologies for having a belated Wednesday Wishes, but then I realised it wasn't late at all and it is in fact Wednesday today. Don't know where all my weekday confusion has stemmed from this week. I've not done anything unusual to put me out of sync. I went back home to Devon on Friday, and spent the last two days in Liverpool with my boyfriend, but that's it lovely as that all was! It's so much warmer down south than up here in Manchester. It's still chilly, but they haven't got the mental gales and ice cold winds we've been experiencing up here the past few weeks. People outside my flats were skipping along the pavements in an attempt to be held up by the wind. They weren't successful, but it was pretty amusing to watch from my window.

I had no internet in Devon, which explains my appalling lack of blogging. Not to give the impression that us rural folk are secluded from modern technology. Wireless internet is just far more complicated than it seems! So, finally onto Wednesday Wishes...

With Elle arriving in my mail box and my purchases of Vogue, Grazia etc seemingly all made this week, I've seen so much stuff I'd like to buy. But, I'll just have to make note of it and store it for the future because this week is for a few supermarket specials I've seen.

Despite the magazines all suggesting we have an abundance of Christmas parties to attend, I never have any to go to. I don't think students do the Christmas party thing? That doesn't mean I don't wish we had some to attend, though, or that I won't imagine what I'd wear.

I could have been a little fantastical and gone onto net-a-porter for the most stunning pieces, but I thought I'd stay realistic seeing as not only the highstreet, but supermarkets also, are offering a worthy treat. The dresses above are all from Asda, would you believe? And none of them cost a penny more than £20. The 4th one is actually a steal at £16.

They all look like they'll be pretty flattering for most figures, and with a little jewellery pizazz I think they'll look  like they cost a lot more. I'd probably indulge in some fabulous heels if I spent £20 on an evening dress, which would defeat the whole point of the saving, I know.

In general, my Wednesday Wish this week is to have some wintry, special occasion to dress up for, and knowing I'd actually be able to afford a good dress makes it all the more annoying!

What do you think? Do you like them?

All available from Asda

P.S - If I was pushing the boat out, it would probably be this one I'd go for right now. Incredibly sexy. Very Balmain.

French Connection 'Samantha' dress. £160.
