If you've been a follower of my blog for a while, then you can look at this post as a new replacement for my previous 'Wednesday Wishes' feature. About a week before pay day (I'm sure more people than myself do this), I find myself obsessing about certain things I want to buy, but can't yet afford. I'm sure the simple fact that they're unobtainable until my wage comes in makes them that much more desirable. And yet, when pay day comes and goes, my money seems to vanish in a flash, spent on items that bring far less enjoyment and satisfaction than any of the above would. This post (that I'll hopefully keep up - I think even I, 'sporadic blogger of the year', can manage that) will remind me of the things I actually want to invest in.

It's been a while since I've done a Wednesday Wishes post, but there's so much I'm coveting right now it's been playing on my mind. With my birthday coming up in a few weeks, I've been eyeing up a few treats/present ideas. I'd willingly pass on birthday cake to receive one of these lovelies and that's saying something!

If anyone can help me find the Chelsea sunglasses in the UK, you will be my fashion hero. Ella did a great post on them, but typically the companies she mentioned don't seem to have any in stock at the moment! I think the fact I'm finding them so hard to come by is making me want them even more. Coincidence, or crafty marketing...who knows.

Wednesday Wishes: Winter Warmers

Just as I was settling into our misleadingly mild winter, the belated cold finally comes along and freezes me over. My fingers and toes are definitely feeling the frost (I had to bring out the Ugg boots today), so this week's Wednesday Wishes is devoted to warming you up this winter. It's always hard for me to banish my skirts to the back of my wardrobe during this season, so I love the idea of wearing a heavy, black velvet skirt, which could be layered with more slim fitting pieces or a chunky knit, like this gorgeous deep red number. It might be because it's nearing Christmas, but red unconsciously seems to be my colour of choice at the moment. Fur lined, fairisle slippers tick all the boxes for style, warmth and comfort on a winter's evening, while a slick of red lipstick will brighten up the bleakest morning. And for a more indulgent treat you can pick up these Missoni gloves, which are available in the most stunning violet and blue hues.

The Christmas songs have just started playing where I work, but so far I've been completely devoid of Christmas spirit. Aside from daydreaming about Christmas pudding in my hungrier moments, and despite it being mid-November, I still feel that it's too early for Christmas. However, this post did start with a hint of festivity when I chose the very seasonal red and green footwear. I'm usually found in boot slippers during winter, but I couldn't resist these adorable, yet very luxe looking, Marc by Marc Jacobs mouse slippers. I was also drawn to the emerald green velvet heels from Topshop. I love the colour, and the opulence that the velvet seems to exude, but the little cherry detail and shiny heel adds a cute touch. 

This post took a slightly more macabre turn when I discovered the hanging mouse necklace by Momocreatura at Wolf & Badger. It's delicate and pretty, yet slightly dark on closer inspection, which I love. Once I went down a slightly darker route, I couldn't get off it. I saw the Miss Selfridge faux leather skirt in this week's issue of Look magazine where it was paired with a deep green knit jumper. I'm seriously coveting some chunky knits at the moment. Finally, after seeing numerous editorials, as well as many catwalk shows, which feature beautiful, velvety matte lips, I've added Chanel's classic Rouge Allure lipstick to the collection. How happy I would be if I could afford this little lot right now.

Wednesday Wishes 28

'Wednesday Wishes' runs in circles of tedium and utter addiction for me. Right now, after a few weeks off, I'm back in the cycle of addiction and brimming with ideas for new themes for my feature. Now that the dismally grey days of winter are in full swing, I'm eyeing up every chunky jumper in sight. With Whistles out of my price range, Topshop is currently winning in terms of having the best knitwear this season. I love the dark, inky green shade of the jumper and would wear it with black skinnies and Topshop's amazing banana boots. Not only do I love the name of them, but my mind's slightly obsessing over the shape of the heel, which I assume is inspired by the covetable footwear designs of Miuccia Prada. 

Speaking of designers, top of my high-end list this week has got to be those Valentino heels, the adorable Kenneth Jay Lane lady bug ring, and the stunning shirt dress by Mary Katrantzou. Mary's strikingly beautiful designs often sell in the region of two thousand pounds, so this shirt dress almost seems like a bargain at a 'mere' £785. However if, like me, seven hundred pounds isn't quite a steal, then the lovely dress at the end, in my current favourite shade of ochre, might be right up your street for £50 at Miss Selfridge.

Tomorrow evening I'm heading to London for the launch of Motel Rocks's latest collection. I can't wait to see what the evening will have in store, but with promises of a free nail bar and the appearance of the Glossybox team, I'm sure it's going to be a fantastic evening and a chance to meet some of my favourite bloggers, which is always a lovely, yet nerve-racking experience for me.

Wednesday Wishes: The LOOK Show Edition

This week my usual Wednesday Wishes feature has been taken over LOOK Show style. One of the amazing prizes awarded to the final five bloggers at the LOOK Show was a £200 gift voucher to spend at Westfield Stratford. I've selected the key pieces that are on my LOOK wishlist, and linked the brand names to the product for you to find easily if you love them as much as I do. Now, where is a girl supposed to start? Ciphering through my photos from the show, I realised I liked  a lot of things on the catwalk. One of my favourite brands from the day (surprisingly) was Marks & Spencer. I say 'surprisingly' only because I tend to think of M&S catering toward a more mature age range, which I think they'd agree with. However, they really turned out some fantastic looks that I'd love to wear, starting with this bright orange cocoon coat. I'd coveted it long before the show for its Audrey Hepburn in Breakfast At Tiffany's look, but it's quite voluminous, so there's a dangerous amount of potential to look like an orange smartie.

The Guest Post: Wednesday Wishes 27

This week I'm going back up North to visit my much missed friends in Manchester and Sheffield. While I'm away, I thought I'd leave you in the capable hands of Style-Passport's Liberty-Belle, who's taken over the reigns of Wednesday Wishes for this week. If you haven't taken a look at Style-Passport before then now's the time. 1 – Lace seems to be everywhere at the moment, and while I like the look of black and coloured lace, I think this white Joie top is a slightly fresher take on the trend, and manages to look girly without feeling too bridal. I love the ¾ length sleeves and slightly cropped shape. 

2 – I’ve been after a pair of red jeans for a while now, and this pair from Current Elliot are the perfect shade and style for me. I think they’d look great dressed up with the lace top above or just worn with a t-shirt for more of a casual look.

3 – My wardrobe might be full of little black dresses already, but there’s always room for one more, especially when it’s as gorgeous as this one from Halston Heritage. I’m really into the cut-out detailing that’s all over the high street at the moment, but sadly don’t quite have the figure to pull it off! The subtle mesh cut-out on this dress looks like it would work on me though, and it’s a flattering shape and style.

4 – I love bright colours and plastic jewellery, as my Tatty Devine collection will attest, and I think I probably always have leopard print on me somewhere, so this Sonia by Sonia Rykiel cuff is pretty much my perfect accessory! I think coral is an incredibly flattering colour on all skin tones, too, although it looks best with a tan (which sadly is not something I ever have!). 

5 – This Anya Hindmarch clutch bag is perfect for adding a touch of glamour to any outfit. I love the way the silver clasp contrasts with the bronze sparkle, and it looks to be roomy enough to fit the everyday essentials, so I definitely wouldn’t be confining it to evening –use only.

6 - Sadly I’m not going on holiday this summer, but if I was I’d definitely be lusting after this amazing Pistol Panties bikini. The little hearts on it are so cute, as is the contrasting colour scheme. The metallic heart cut-outs are a nice touch, too – although they might make for some dodgy tan-lines after a while!

It's been a while since I've done a 'Wednesday Wishes' post. Unless there are things I'm really lusting after (you know the items that insist on playing on your mind), 'Wednesday Wishes' is a bit of a difficult one to do, but I'm brimming with obsession for some new products this week, so it's back! 

* I've been looking for the perfect blazer for a long time. I've swiftly come to the conclusion that Topshop is probably going to be the place to go to, I'm just reluctant to pay £65 for one as I'm sure there are equally good ones out there for cheaper. Any ideas? 

*I'm a total fool for anything burgundy. You can bet that anything in the deep red shade will be coveted by me, and if not then that's because it's already residing in my wardrobe. I've bought a few chiffon shirts lately (I love them), so I don't technically need one, but then again, I don't have one in this colour. I also love the skater dresses that Topshop have brought out recently. Knowing Topshop, I'm sure this one will be available in all the colours of the rainbow soon enough, so I might just wait for a dark red version as I've already got an Asos one identical to this. 

*I'm finally coming around to the concept of the flat shoe. My toes look like they're veering off in the wrong direction, so I've decided to put the heels to rest for a while (even though I don't wear them that much) and invest in some staple flats. The rule is: if they're going to be flat, then they have to have some kind of 'pizazz'. These hot pink and studded lovelies fit the bill perfectly.

*On the real dream list this week are these amazing pieces. When I last went into Selfridges in Manchester I picked up this vivid green Mulberry 'Taylor' bag. Predictably it just seemed to look incredible with what I was wearing, but alas it's an equally incredible £950! 

*If I was loved up right now, I'd be hoping to have this Alex Monroe 'love knot' ring slipped onto my finger. There was something about its endearingly simple design that caught my eye. 

*Finally, there had to be a day when the Miu Miu heels of the season featured on Dressing Miss Dolly. Miuccia sure knows how to temp the shoe addicts amongst us, producing must-have footwear show after show. Along with the fabulous glitter boots from the AW11 runway, these Dorothy-esque heels are the things shoe-dreams are made of. I long to be Hailee with Miu Miu heels entwined in my hair....

I cannot wait until my first wage comes through from doing full time hours. I've decided to treat myself to something really lovely, however, it's a good job my hours are a little sporadic this month as I'd have some real trouble deciding where to splurge my cash.  Both high street and high end have got some real gems in this week. In particular, I love the very cute, daisy ring by  Alex Monroe. It would be a consistent reminder of the floral adorned hair that was the style choice du jour at Glastonbury this year. You can probably tell I'm also going through a leopard print phase again this season. I find leopard print splits the fashionable masses into two distinct groups. There are those who confidently and readily pull it off with panache, and there are those who will avoid it like the plague due to its cheap 'n' tarty connotations, which have sadly tarnished leopard print's style potential to many. I'm currently coveting some leopard print footwear, be it flat or heeled, so that I can finally replace the Primark flats I bought a while ago, which seem to do nothing but encourage bunion development. Also, despite the weather picking up in the South-West at the moment, I'm starting to look forward to the upcoming autumn season and cosy knits are suddenly looking very appealing...

Wednesday Wishes 24

Glastonbury is just around the corner and I have no idea what to wear. I haven't been to Glastonbury before and it's been a long time since I've trodden on festival ground welly clad, so I haven't much attire which seems festival appropriate. Although, with a bit of style research (thank you Miss Moss and Miss Bosworth), I've realised you can make almost anything work at a festival as long as your outfit has an element of unkempt, I-just-threw-this-on-in-the-tent, dishevelled chic about it. It seemed appropriate that this week Wednesday Wishes would be all about festival style. I'd wear all of the outfits below (they're a kind of general mish-mash of my personality/style), but my most coveted pieces have got to be the Barbour-esque gilet, amazing Bosworth-worthy ankle boots, and the Primark poncho which Kate Moss chose to wear to the Isle of Wight festival recently.

Creating the first outfit made me think of that phrase, 'red and green should never be seen', but I always think Nature is host to the most beautiful colour combinations, and if she paired red rose petals with emerald leaves, then I'm going for the red fringe bag and green shorts combo. I think I was persuaded by the fact I just love the combination of caramel shades with red and green individually anyway!

I couldn't think of anything I'm really coveting at the moment for this week's Wednesday Wishes, so I thought I'd check out the latest drops in some of my favourite stores and share with you my favourite pieces instead.

Dorothy Perkins are amazing at the moment if you're looking for affordable raffia shoes, which are pretty similar to the ones in Topshop albeit for about ten/fifteen pounds cheaper. I really love the wedge styles because I have more of a chance of staying upright in them (Manchester is far too cobbled for stilettos in my experience!). This white lace dress is really pretty and fresh for summer, giving a clear nod toward the seductive lace details seen at Dolce and Gabbana. Similarly, for designer inspired looks, this bag instantly caught my eye. For just £14 it's one of the best ways to get the vibe of Stella McCartney into your wardrobe.

I go through phases of wanting everything in Topshop and not wanting much at all. Right now I'm in the latter phase, but I do love this maxi dress by Goldie. With some flats and a wide brimmed hat it's perfect for festival goers. Ever promoting anything reminiscent of Erdem, I adore the red lace dress, which is a stunning piece for sunny days and special occasions. Also, if you've been near a Chanel counter recently, you may have fallen for the gorgeous new shade of the season - Mimosa. For just £5, Topshop's 'Bees Knees' is a quick fix.

Right at the top end of the scale is Net-A-Porter. If you're a fan of the Olsens line, The Row, then go and check out the new items that have just arrived. Net-A-Porter's had an influx of amazing goods by the pair, including this lovely slouchy sweater. Seeing Diane Kruger's style recently has given me a penchant for fedora hats. I'm doubtful they'll suit me, but I'm intrigued to try. Similarly, I'd love to try out these uber bright jeans by Ksubi, but until then a safer option is definitely this gorgeous snake ring by Roberto Cavalli.

Part of me is feeling blue and part of me is just in love with pastel tones of the shade. They're so pretty for summer and look so fresh. I've never worn a lace triangle bra like this one. Are they supportive or just delicately pretty? I'm thinking they might look good under certain tops where I'd actually favour looking smaller chested - even a bit of padding is too much sometimes and I wouldn't say I have big boobs. Like the bra, I've fallen for the shorts because of  their feminine charm, yet also because they're called 'eyelash' shorts - a lovely description for their hem. 

Big shades and nude patent heels ooze the kind of chic Victoria Beckham is renowned for, and every time I see her in nude sky scrapers I'm reminded that I need some in my wardrobe. I'm thinking they'll be good to tone down the vibrant bright combos I'm inspired to try since wandering into Zara yesterday. Speaking of brights, I love this Meredith Wendell bag. The red contrast is striking and I like its subtle twist on the traditional satchel style.

Don't forget to let me know what you think of the Miss Selfridge 'Lily' dress I'm looking at for the grad ball. I ordered it online today, so I'll post some pictures when it arrives.

I love how defiantly the Jil Sander SS11 collection screams SUMMER, amidst the murky, British weather we're currently experiencing. This bright floral bag is stunning and the colours instantly raise my mood, but sadly it costs a far bit more than its acetate, market-bag counterpart.

I know I only featured this dress yesterday, but I'm so taken with it it had to feature again. I'm hoping Manchester Arndale will have it in stock this weekend, and that it will look nice on. These kinds of dresses tend take issue with my hip area though, so I'll keep you updated!

Let me introduce to you the Lana's - the Lita's 'curvier sister'. Their curved heel really reminds me of the Proenza Schouler platforms from their AW10 collection. Given the chance, I'd take these in the cream canvas, and the Litas in the black leather. The Lita's seem a bit heavy for summer, and even though these are equally chunky and vertiginous, the cut out heel and canvas seem to give them a summer-appropriate lightness. It's so frustrating that we can't get many JC heels over here in the UK, and when they do, they cost more than the US RRP!

Over the past week, these are the things which have really caught my eye. No doubt the YSL ring is going to be an instant sell out now it's available in pink. I never think of myself as a 'pink girl', but I must be because whenever something becomes available in the colour, you can guarantee I'll want it. This, and the dark blue version, are my absolute favourites.

Topshop is on top form for summer. Yellow is my favourite colour and is just a perfect end of season pick me up to get you that spring time feel. Even if the skies are grey outside, I always find a dash of yellow brightens my mood. I adore the pastel shade of the seven eighths jeans, a cut I'm really obsessed with at the moment. There's a retro feel about them and I think a little flash of ankle is subtly sexy. 

I wonder if the dress will look nice on in person. I can totally imagine it with black tights and JC Lita's (which have just become available in the UK!), a boyfriend fit blazer and a wide rimmed hat. I've decided to kick out the old stuff from my wardrobe and buy in the essential basics I'm in need of. So many times I haven't bought a dress or trousers that I really want because I have such a shoe shortage, I don't have anything to wear with them. Now I'm going to buy go-with-everything-shoes, and I think these taupe wedges will be amongst them. Sadly, the JC Lita's also come under this category, and therefore are a constant cruel source of temptation for me.

Does anybody have them because I'm dying to know if they're really difficult to walk in just to put me off. Although, a lot of US bloggers swoon over the fact that they're 'THE comfiest heels I've ever worn'. 

In other news, I managed to bag that Topshop sweater I was looking for. I found it on eBay, and got it for just £12 including postage. I really should check out eBay more often when I want something, and before you say it, I've looked and the Lita's are just as expensive.

1. The perfect nude, chiffon maxi. I've been gradually falling for chiffon maxis for a while now, and this one is lovely and cheaper than American Apparel/Topshop. Miss Selfridge

2. Like most people, I'm pretty obsessed with everything from the Jil Sander SS11 collection. I was going to post a stunning, strapless pink dress, but this market bag caught my eye as it's actually in my price range! It seems incredibly cheap considering it's a designer bag, which makes it all the more tempting! Net A Porter

3. Along with vibrant brights, florals are also big in my books at the moment. This dress caught my eye instantly and has the bonus of having a pretty, knotted back detail too. Roll on spring! Topshop

4. These shoes speak for themselves. Block heels, creamy, nude shade, wood platform - perfect! Asos

5. Cobalt blue keeps grabbing my attention. It's been seen a lot on the catwalks for AW11, and I'm currently coveting a pair of cropped, electric blue trousers. Until I find the right pair, this ring should be added to my collection. Topshop

6. For AW11, Mulberry channelled the English woodland, with Olivia Palermo seen perched upon a toadstool. It's a tad too small to provide seating, but it will make a cute accessory for your handbag. Net A Porter

My boyfriend bought us both tickets to go and see Les Miserables today - a musical I've been dying to see for as long as I can remember. While I'm in London, a trip to the shoe boutique in Selfridges and a Lola cupcake will surely be in order.

3. I saw a sales assistant wearing this with a knotted, plain, white tee and wedges. It looked amazing. Plus, I feel in need of a chiffon-esque, ballet-esque skirt right now. Topshop

4. I've needed a blazer for years, because mine looks more like an office jacket. You can trust the Olsen's to create something classically simple, stylish, and effortlessly cool. The Row at Net A Porter

1. This Versace dress has made lilac and its close friend, powder blue, my current colour crushes. So pretty, yet so unaffordable. Net A Porter

2. Another item on the dream list - the Mulberry 'Tillie' bag. I get a bursary once a year at uni, which I use to get a couple treats and then pretty much waste the rest of. I've been debating whether to treat  myself to a nice handbag instead this year. At least I'd have something that will last me for years and years, and will actually be something to show for the bursary. As much as I love this bag, if I decided to do this I think I'd have to go for something a bit more 'classic'. Net A Porter

3. I own a pair of leopard print pumps, but they're from Primark and hurt my feet almost as much as heels do!! I have quite high arcs and they barely even have a sole, so no matter how much I love them we just don't get on. wednesday wishes 15

1, 3, 4 - Topshop, 2 - Asos

1. Every year I get a kind of cosy-item fetish. Last year it was for a thick knit, black cardigan, which I finally found in Topshop Boutique. This year I'm longing for a grey, slouchy sweater. This one from Topshop really looks like it's exactly what I'm looking for. I want to try it on just to make sure it slouches in all the right places, and it must also have knuckle length sleeves. Bizarre criteria, I know.

2. There's a little hurricane of frenzy whipping up the blogosphere at the moment for handbags in the style of my little vintage favourite. I'm gutted because I get so many compliments on my bag and rarely see similar styles around, so I very, very selfishly don't want them to become popular. Some similar-ish bags have been cropping up on the highstreet and this one from Asos is my favourite. I love its patent finish and the reddish-brown colouring.

3. Last week I featured the Jil Sander, hot pink maxi skirt in Wednesday Wishes. Following bright skirted suit, this week the spotlight is on this purple lovely from Topshop. I'm dying for the highstreet to produce a Jil Sander inspired maxi skirt, and I really hope they're in the pipeline for summer. For now, this short style can ease you into the colour block trend of next season.

4. I've told you a few times over the months that I'm a trouser-phobe, and that I only have one pair of jeans in my wardrobe, which really should be in the recycling bin. I'm currently fawning over cropped, black styles (think Mia Wallace in Pulp Fiction) paired with stylish flats. These jeans from Topshop are 'super-soft', so I hope that means they'll avoid the crunchy stage that jeans get after washing. I'm dying to try them out as I haven't bought new jeans in years!
