New in at Net A Porter: Proenza Schouler SS11

If you've been a follower of my blog for a while, it will have become very apparent that I'm a huge fan of imaginary, Net-A-Porter shopping. Forget that the fact that pretty much everything (bar a pair of tights maybe) is out of my price region, a girl really can dream, right? So I'm always concocting ultimate outfits from some of my favourite designer's pieces available on the site. This week saw the exciting introduction of Rodarte to the store. Even when you become reasonably acquainted with designer price tags, it's still surprising to find Rodarte's dresses selling for upwards of seven thousand pounds. Quite the dream outfit. However, fan as I am of the sister's creations, it's the update to the site today, which has got me really excited. I'm a huge fan of pretty much everything by Proenza Schouler, and though the SS11 collection didn't quite grab me at first, I'm 100% sold on it now. So, Net-A-Porter's announcement that Proenza Schouler SS11 is in stock sent my imaginary outfit cogs into overdrive.

Although the clothes were stunning, it was the jewellery for SS11 that really caught my eye. Net-A-Porter are currently stocking just one necklace, but I'm sure they'll have more in store for us in the future. 

The cheapest item available from the range is a rope bracelet, retailing at £130. The prices run up to £260 for a tee, to upwards of £1700 for one of their famous PS1 bags or a tweed-jacquard jacket. 

Pointless as online-window shopping must seem to some, it will seem a most practical idea should I make my millions any day now.

When Dreams Are Made of Net-A-Porter

Yesterday evening, while indulging in my day of nothingness and reading through Vogue, I got to imagining what it would be like to have Net-A-Porter as my wardrobe. Can you imagine?! Of course, for a lucky few in this world, this is pretty much their reality, but for the rest of us...what a dream! Whenever I go to Net-A-Porter, I always look through the dresses first, then the shoes, followed by coats, bags, jackets and trousers respectively, which explains why my choices are a tad dress heavy. But if I had to go right in and make an instantaneous selection, supermarket sweep style, these would definitely be my top choices.

It's late and I'm really tired, so I've decided to describe why I want my wishes in one, easy sentence (or two)!

1. Perfect with black, cropped skinnies - and comfy. Bonus! Topshop

2. Clearly the inspiration for the Layla's in Topshop, which have been my favourite for ages (stunning colour too). Marni at Net A Porter

3. I saw a sales assistant wearing this with a knotted, plain, white tee and wedges. It looked amazing. Plus, I feel in need of a chiffon-esque, ballet-esque skirt right now. Topshop

Wednesday Wishes 16

1. This Versace dress has made lilac and its close friend, powder blue, my current colour crushes. So pretty, yet so unaffordable. Net A Porter

2. Another item on the dream list - the Mulberry 'Tillie' bag. I get a bursary once a year at uni, which I use to get a couple treats and then pretty much waste the rest of. I've been debating whether to treat  myself to a nice handbag instead this year. At least I'd have something that will last me for years and years, and will actually be something to show for the bursary. As much as I love this bag, if I decided to do this I think I'd have to go for something a bit more 'classic'. Net A Porter

3. I own a pair of leopard print pumps, but they're from Primark and hurt my feet almost as much as heels do!! I have quite high arcs and they barely even have a sole, so no matter how much I love them we just don't get on. wednesday wishes 12

It's been a while since Wednesday Wishes, but I've handed in all my uni work and am chilling out now, so there's plenty of time to fit it in! With Valentine's Day being promoted all over the stores, pretty much since Boxing Day ended, the red colour palette seems appropriate. Not only does it get me out of my black phase, but it also goes amazingly with black so it's win win. 

The Ring: A while a go I saw Lisa Eldridge wearing a gorgeous 'lips' ring on one of her make-up tutorials. I instantly wanted it and eventually tracked it down at Net-A-Porter. It's designed by Solange Azagury-Partridge, who sells quite cute and unusual pieces for the 'Fine Jewellery' section. The downside is that it comes in at a staggering £990 (add another 14 thousand to that if you want the 18 karat, ruby version).  If you're able to afford it, then you can find it here.

The hat and boots are from Asos. I've been coveting a floppy hat for a while now, and what with the seventies trend coming up fast for spring, it will fit perfectly into my wardrobe. I've also been debating the boots since seeing them the other week, but haven't been sure how good they'd look. However, if you take a look at Late Afternoon's most recent post, you'll see that they look incredible. Yet more boots to detract from my bank account...

The little red dress: After wearing my shorts the other day (albeit indoors), I felt like I was getting a touch of spring spirit. This red dress with minuscule heart embroidery from Topshop, makes me feel the same way. I'm in need of buying stuff that brings a bit of sunlight to my wardrobe, but doesn't look too out of place while it's still chilly outside. Roll up pretty dresses in bright colours.

THE book: Now that I've finished my university work for the first semester, I can start to indulge in a little reading of my own. Justine Picardie's biography of Coco Chanel fits the bill perfectly. I found it here.

Is anyone watching Mary Portas's show tonight about customer service? I get so mad with sale assistants, especially during the January sales. I can never be bothered even looking through them because they're always so messy! What are your pet peeves when it comes to customer service?

wednesday wishes (on a weekend) 8

Shorts, Ring: Miss Selfridge, Jumper: Topshop, Dog: Erdem, Bag: Proenza Schouler both at Net A Porter

So Wednesday Wishes is taking place on a weekend this week, because I'm completely overloaded with uni work. I've kind of forced myself to live like a hermit this week though, and now I can almost see over my mountain of books I thought I'd give a bit of time to the blog. 

If you're on Twitter make sure you're following Erdem. Somehow I didn't know Erdem even had Twitter until Most Curious tweeted him. That day he had posted a photo of the fabric Daschund 'ice skating'. As a Bulldog and Daschund lover, I wish I had this guy sat on my desk right now. Sadly, at £150 he's not going to be sat there any time soon. Another thing on the wish list which won't be mine in the near future, is this gorgeous PS1 satchel in the most delicious raspberry colour. It is my absolute favourite bag of the season. 

Some things a little more achievable on my wishlist come from Miss Selfridge and good old Topshop. I spied these suede shorts over at Cocos Tea Party the other day. I fully expected them to be a designer label, but to my happy surprise they're £34! I hope my Dad is reading this because he's wondering what to buy me for Christmas, and these would be ideal. The ring is £12.50, another bargain, and it speaks for itself really.

As any long term Miss Dolly readers will know, I've been obsessing over Alpine themed knitwear ever since the D&G show for this season. I've still not got round to buying any yet for reasons unknown, but I'd pair this jumper with my leather shorts and thick knee socks. Does anybody else get looked at like they're crazy if they wear knee high socks out at the moment? I was wearing a coat, a scarf, a cardigan, a thick dress, gloves and ankle boots, but because I had an inch of thigh showing from my super thick knit thigh high socks, people were looking at me as though I was running naked through the cold!

wednesday wishes 7

Wednesday creeps up on me every week. I've been trying to get into my creative zone for uni, what with a ridiculous amount of assignments coming up, so I was putting blogging aside for a little while. Then I realised it was Wednesday, and not only that, but I had also committed myself to a little thing called Wednesday Wishes, so here it is.

It was fairly easy to do as I regularly procrastinate by reading blogs or sifting through various websites to dreamily gaze at all kinds of objects, which my bank account renders unobtainable. One product which I don't expect to have out of my grasp, however, is a magazine. Lula magazine to be exact. This magazine appears to have gone a bit MIA recently, and the only person I know who has it in their lucky possession is Most Curious, who assures me if she finds another she will send it my way. I love lovely bloggers! I don't know what issue I've featured here, but the photo of Chanel is stunning.

Speaking of stunning, let's move easily on to Erdem. I'm having a thing for long sleeved dresses at the moment, and this little number fits the bill perfectly. Lace, long sleeves and a gorgeous stone grey colour - winter perfection. Erdem accessorised this dress with a pattern of red florals peeking through the neckline and a vibrant red belt, but I've forever been in love with grey paired with soft pink or blue, so I'd most likely colour it up that way, but maintain his catwalk styling with heeled hiking boots and maybe a leather headband.

The 7th to the 19th December sees an exhibition of the work of Peter Clark at the Rebecca Hossak gallery in London. He's showcasing some brilliant pieces of art all in the form of dogs, my favourite being this little Bulldog fella. I've read in one of my magazines (quite possibly Elle or Vogue) that prices start from £4000, so as my boyfriend pointed out, you could actually buy 2 or 3 real dogs for this price. I'm sure it would be a lovely exhibition to go and see, especially if you're a dog lover. If you do, please let me know what you thought.

Alexander Wang 'Rocco'

So, studs and black leather have all been banished from our summery minds, and we're now in the midst of marshmellow pastels, and everything girly, floaty and pretty. Until Alexander Wang said 'there shall be no more!'. Well, not exactly, because his Rocco bag's been around a while, however the time is perfect to revive the hype that's surrounded it previously.  Available in leather and black velvet (sounds very seductive to me), this bag brings back leather and studs in all their glory. Now, how about mixing that up with your summer trend pieces? Perfect.

Ok, we all know Christian Louboutin is amongst the royalty of shoe world, arguably the King. We all know that many a stylish foot has slipped into a Louboutin heel, and everything: mood, outfit, sex appeal (and sadly, chance of bunions - poor Victoria), is enhanced. BUT, I think I have found my favourite Louboutin shoe. Wait for it, wait for it...

A flat Louboutin, I hear you cry. Precisely! I've never seen anything better. Undoubtedly comfortable, unquestionably stylish, I love them and want them badly.
Someone hand me a tissue, while I cry over the £370 price tag...

Time To Dress

Philip Lim is one of the designers whose clothes I would love to wear, so badly words can't really describe. You all know the feeling, we all have our favourites.
I love these dresses - the texture is lovely. The colours of the second one kinda remind me of Rodartes s/s10 collection, with the soft yellow and creamy brown.

And on the subject of very nice dresses, this one by Peter Pilotto is stunning. The colours are gorgeous, and it looks so modern and fresh.

I can really see Emma Watson in any of these, I'd love to see her work the Peter Pilotto.
