top quality outfit post

I jest as you will soon note when you see my photos. I realised I have a webcam, which could potentially take half decent photos. I was clearly mistaken, but it still managed to capture what I'm wearing for my essay writing today.

My shirt just finished drying and is horrendously creased, but my flat mate keeps the iron in her bedroom and she's asleep, so you'll have to bear with them as I am, I'm afraid. I tried to capture a bit of the detail on the shorts too, but it ended up in some bizarre crotch shot, so I missed that one out! 

I actually feel a bit better now I've got up and dressed.

la la land

Yesterday, some new followers came aboard my Twitter ship called La La Land Vintage. Whenever I get new followers I always check them out to see if they have blogs, stores etc and I was very happy to come across this company. Not only have they got one of the sweetest background stories "Jada and Jon are a young married couple who decided they didn't want to conform to the norm and live separate lives, but rather do something together that they love: buy and sell vintage clothing" - I swoon over this, but they also have some fantastic vintage pieces. Where I currently live, there's not that much in the way of vintage that I find all that wearable for my own personal style. However, I could totally wear the majority of La La Land's treasures. They even have a couple stunning vintage Chanel jackets, which I have fallen in love with, though they're completely out of my budget. If you haven't come across this company before, definitely go and check them out now, but leave some for me, yeah?

a not so intentional outfit post

I've been debating for aaaages whether or not to post what I wear. Not because I don't like what I wear, I just hate, hate, hate having my photo taken and posing about.

I went to watch the fireworks last night with some friends in Salford, and my snap happy friend got a few photos of what I was wearing. Preferring to have had a photo taken by a friend, and not when I'm not so nonchalantly striking a pose by myself, I thought I'll just put it up and see how it goes, despite my hair and face looking particularly horrendous.

I'm wearing my lovely Topshop trench (which I don't think I can bear to sell now, I'll just have to cut down on the cupcakes), my new Topshop peter pan collar tunic/dress, some black Primark brogues (I know you can't see them), my vintage handbag, boyfriend's H&M scarf and a whole load of H&M rings.
I know for an outfit post photo, this shot is lame but it's a slow start!

P.S - I've added that 'you might like to read' widget, and it might offer you glimpses of my blog way back when. I've changed my layout loads since I started the blog, so the archives are all pretty messy and the photos don't fit into my new layout. Apologies guys :)

Zooey Deschanel

I love these shots of Zooey Deschanel by Ellen Von Unwerth. I kinda wish I could make photos look like this again, just sometimes. It reminds me of looking at my Nan's old photos of her and my Mum - lovely.

I think vintage swimsuits and pin up styles are so much sexier than our modern day bikinis. They seem to look cute on everyone. I've seen a really pretty, lilac floral one in Topshop, but bikini shopping is the one form of shopping I hate. I'll try and brave it out!

This Moment

I really love emerald green. It looks sensational on brunettes but is one of those colours that can look equally stunning on a blonde, which appeals to me because I can't decide what to do with my mangy locks at the moment, apart from be partly swayed to shaving the whole lot off (not that I'd ever do that, but occasionally I do think it would be nice to grow my hair from scratch...free from hair dye, heat damage etc etc, strange as it sounds!). Anyhow, back on to the colour spectrum, green is my pick of the moment as are long sleeved dresses. So it's pretty easy to understand why I love this vintage dress...

I want to buy more dresses with simple, classic cuts and revive them a little with some stand out accessories.

I'll keep my eyes peeled in the sales!

How I love my new vintage bag

I found this bag for a bargain of £12 at a vintage store in Manchester. It's smaller than in the photos and I love it's shape. It's made my day a happy one! :)
