Cara Delevingne Covers Russh Magazine September 2012

Seeing models on the covers of magazines is far too rare an occurrence, in my opinion. It's understandable that actresses and singers are guaranteed big sellers for magazines, but it's always great to see your favourite models show everyone how it's done. Since seeing her years ago on the pages of ASOS, Cara Delevingne has been one of my all-time favourite models and now she covers Russh magazine, sporting the studded gloves from Burberry's Fall 2012 show. Although it doesn't quite beat her Jalouse cover for me, it's still fantastic. How brilliant would it be to see her on the cover of Vogue UK? Lara Stone, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley and Agyness Deyn have scored covers in the past, so it's feasible.

Do you prefer to see models on the covers of magazines? Do you like Cara's Russh cover?

Fashion: Two of My Favourite Things

Two of my favourite models, Ginta Lapina and Daphne Groeneveld, model for Versace's spring-summer 2012 lookbook. While this is by no means 'new news', in the relative absence of my top models (Abbey Lee and Magdalena, where are you?), I'm loving the fact that Ginta and Daphne are remaining favourites of Donatella. I've been a fan of Daphne for a long time, but Ginta captivated my attention more recently in the Louis Vuitton SS12 show. She always looks insanely beautiful, don't you think?

While Versace isn't always one of my favourite labels, I love the simple, white dress worn by Daphne and the incredible triple-bag hybrid modelled by Ginta.

Are you a fan of Daphne or Ginta? Who are your top models?

Charlotte Free

Even if you're not a model stalker like me, it will have been difficult to miss the buzz that's surrounded Charlotte Free lately. Slightly smugly, I'm proud to say she's unknowingly been 'the face' of my blog for a long time now, so I'm glad she's finally getting the recognition she deserves. Notorious for her bubblegum pink hair, she's been a firm favourite of designers Jeremy Scott and Vivienne Westwood, as well as the Topshop Unique team (she was the face of Topshop's AW11 make up range), and has recently had a 'f**k yeah' fan page dedicated to her by her ever-increasing fan base. I'm hoping in 2012 we'll see a lot more of her, but until then enjoy the collage.

Cintia Dicker

I discovered Cintia Dicker when I first started blogging in 2009, rooting through the archives of Fashion Gone Rogue. A regular for Lula magazine, she instantly became one of my favourite models alongside Magdalena, Abbey, and Natasha. This year she stars in Next's spring/summer 2011 ad campaign (I can't find photos anywhere!), which I hope is a sign that we'll be seeing a lot more of her this year. She really is a truly sensational redhead, and her freckles are so gorgeous!

Carolina Herrera Resort 2008

The fresh, outdoor, garden-esque setting in this shot from Carolina Herrera's Resort 2008 show really reminds me of Erdem's spring/summer 2011 setting. With such a pretty face, Cintia would be perfect to showcase his feminine designs, no?

What do you think of Cintia? Who's your favourite model?

fresh faced

Alexander Wang's models via June

In the small town I come from you often hear young school girls going through magazines saying 'how is she a model? She's not even pretty! I'm prettier than that!'
The thing is, you don't need to be stereotypically 'pretty' faced to be a model, but you need to be able to take off your make up, scruff up your hair, and have the look. The bare faced, impossibly, striking freshness that all the models of the above have. Just look at Abbey and Natasha (I'm bias - they're my favourites). You can't master it. You either have it or you don't.
I'm definitely on the scary side of things when I wake up in the morning, but then I'm just hoping to write about fashion. :)

a happy Christmas from Victoria's Secret

I love the Victoria's Secret girls. The fun and sexiness of the show is contagious, and I always try and watch it. Some of the creations that walk down the runaway are just amazing; it's a real escape into a fantastical imagination or maybe just a man's fantasy? Here's the girls singing We Wish You A Merry Christmas. They sure look good, but man they can't sing.
Dressing Miss Dolly will most likely be looking a bit dodgy for the time being because my custom fonts have decided to vanish. I don't know what's happened and because I'm rubbish with these font code things, it will probably be a couple of hours till it's all looking good again, so bear with me. On a good note, I managed to get all my work handed in today with only three minutes to spare before the deadline! Not my fault - genuinely! Every single uni printer decided to run out of paper, and apparently it takes an 'expert' to fix this, who takes about an hour to arrive. I could have throttled the woman who told me this. Any how, after much stressing and rushing around campus I got it done. Time to feel the Christmas spirit :)
Tonight I'm heading into Manchester to have a look around the markets, get a bit of shopping done, and enjoy a Nandos followed by Krispy Kremes with my boyfriend.
Hope you all have a lovely weekend!

flaws?

I used to want freckles so bad when I was little. I've always thought they're incredibly beautiful.

Changes Overnight

I've been away camping for a few nights, and in my absence Abbey Lee has undergone a slight transformation. I'm a self confessed massive Abbey fan, but I don't think I'm liking this hair colour choice. One of the things I loved about her look was her natural, mousey brown mane. Every time I go to get my hair cut I show a photo to my hairdresser of the 'Abbey fringe'. Don't think I'll be asking for this though. On the upside, I love the vampy lips.
What do you think of her new look?

Models

I really didn't want to feature smoking on my blog, because remember kids, despite how ironically glamorous it looks, it is bad bad bad BAD news. Class dismissed.

My Girl

My favourite look of the Chloé collection, and one of the campaigns I always gaze at a little longer than the rest. For me, Chloé would be my go-to for the simple, chic, elegance that all the fashion editors are understandably falling camel coloured head over camel coloured heels for.

Yellow Like The Buttercups

I have no idea who this model is but she's so pretty and has such an enchanting face.

These butter-yellow Charles Anastase shoes actually make me feel sick with envy. Beautiful.

Beach Bronze: Kate Moss

I didn't even realise this was Kate at first - never seen her so tanned!!

This is the kind of look I like; bronzed skin, sea-salt hair, white sands and blue waters. Gorgeous.
